The Wareham Village Association is a non-profit organization; a collection of enthusiastic individuals who want to bring business and residential communities together to form a village center
in the downtown area
The intent of the Wareham Village Association is to re-establish a sense of community by developing and defining a character for downtown. This character is created by the encouragement, promotion and
establishment of successful businesses. Our objective is to build a foundation for under-developed potential to be fulfilled through our commitment to work closely with other civic organizations.

Benefits
The Wareham Village Association holds regular public meetings the
2nd Thursday every month at 226 Main Street, Eastern Bank at 11:00am.
The Wareham Village Association has a very contagious enthusiasm prevalent at all our meetings. Although Main Street has seen a marked decline in the past couple of decades, we have all taken
note of its considerable assets. We are moving toward making them an outstanding feature of the image of Wareham. We welcome all residents and business people interested in the rejuvenation of Wareham Village.

Planned Events & Programs
- Narrated Historical Tour in conjunction with the planned bicycle path along the riverfront.
- Development of an outdoor summer concert series "Sunday Afternoon In The Park" at Besse
Park.
- Design input to the Merchants Way repaving and improvement programs.
- Development of an economic restructuring plan in co-operation with Town officials to create a long-term, properous mix of businesses and other enterprises.
- Presentation of the Main Street Approach slide show composed by the National Main Street Network.
- Develop and Maintain publications such as the newsletter.
- Sponsor a contest to identify the location of old photographs of Wareham Village.
The Wareham Village Association is proud to announce that the Community Economic Development Authority has received a grant to start the long awaited revitalization of Main Street. Many thanks to Peter Sanborn, his board and staff, for bringing our vision to fruition. Phase 1. Construction will begin the last week of October, 2011. Please note: Traffic may be re-routed during this period.
